Carl Brickey, President California Republican Assembly

On this Memorial Day, take a moment to honor and pay tribute to the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, our liberty, and the principles upon which our nation was founded. As we gather with loved ones to enjoy this long weekend, let us not forget the true meaning behind this holiday, a day set aside to honor and mourn our military personnel who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces.

Our nation has persevered because of the sacrifices of courageous individuals who served in our military. They fought and sacrificed to protect our freedoms and defend our values. We owe them a debt that can never be repaid.

On this Memorial Day, let us also remember the men and women currently serving in our armed forces. They have put themselves in harm’s way for our freedom and security, and we must always keep them in our thoughts and prayers.

As members of the California Republican Assembly, we are dedicated to the enduring principles of our party, including patriotism and respect for the men and women who have served our country. We are proud to stand alongside our veterans and their families, and we will always honor and support them.

As we reflect on the sacrifices of our fallen heroes, let us also renew our commitment to preserving the freedoms that they fought for. Let us strive to live up to the ideals of their sacrifice and work towards a better and stronger America.

On January 5, 1967, then Governor Ronald Reagan stated, “Freedom is a fragile thing and it’s never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by way of inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. And those in world history who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again.

May we never forget the sacrifices of our brave servicemen and women, and may we always honor their memory on this sacred day.

Sincerely,

Carl Brickey, President
