Hello fellow Chairs and Constituents,

My name is Johanna Lassaga. I am the chair of the Yuba County Republican Party, and I am running for Vice Chair of the Chairs’ Committee.

I am a lifelong resident of California. My husband and I farm rice in Yuba County. We are also cattle ranchers in Yuba, Placer and Yolo County. I decided to get involved in the GOP because we are too vested here in California, so we decided to stay and fight! I helped raise a significant amount of money for Congressional Candidate Tamika Hamilton. During that time she made me a delegate to the State Convention where I decided I wanted to get even more involved with the local committee.

Before my time as Chair of the Yuba GOP, there wasn’t a committee, outside of giving delegates to the state party. There were no meetings. There were no members. There was no fundraising. There was no assistance to out local candidates. Once I transitioned into being Chair, all of that changed.

The Yuba County GOP under my leadership has become a powerhouse in Northern California. We have raised significant amounts of money through contributions, donations, and multiple fundraising events over the last 18 months. We secured a location as our Republican Party headquarters, hold monthly and special meetings there and present candidates for meet and greets which has given us a strong presence in Yuba County. We work with our electeds, and 8 out of our 9 candidates which we supported and endorsed in the last election year of 2022 were elected to office. We knocked on doors, placed campaign signs, and held fundraisers for our candidates.

We helped push all of our Assemblymen, State Senators, and Congressmen over the finish line including our newest Congressman and my personal endorser – Kevin Kiley. I am also endorsed by Mark Wright, Placer, Shandon Griffin, Colusa, David Chan, Alameda, Matt Heath, Sonoma, Anna Kramer, San Mateo, Lee McCorkle, Glenn, Randall Jordan, San Luis Obispo, Lloyd Leighton, Sutter, Bob Hren, Nevada, Bob Zane, Modoc, Paula Whitsell, San Diego, Mark Gasster, Napa, Michael Holtsclaw, Tehama, Randy Hanvelt, Tuolumne, Ed Langan, Calaveras, Deb Hughes, Mendocino, Jack Wilkinson, Marin. I have also been endorsed by Assemblyman James Gallagher, Congressman Kevin Kiley, California Republican Assembly, and the Republican Conservative Coalition.

I am running for Vice Chair of the Chairs’ Committee because I want to help the Chairs strengthen their Counties which will strengthen the State Party. I have the experience of building a County Party from nothing into a high functioning machine and am passionate in helping other counties to succeed. Our State Party benefits when areas of weakness are strengthened and the CA State GOP becomes stronger from within as the Committee Chairs’ assist and lead, beginning with the local central committees all over California. I ask for the opportunity to pass along my experience and serve as the Vice Chair of the Chairs’ Committee.
