The CRA 2022 Annual Convention will be held from Friday, March 18 to Sunday, March 20 at the Knott’s Berry Farm Hotel in Buena Park. The convention will meet in the Irvine/O’Neill Rooms on the third floor (Ballroom Level). The banquets will be held in the Knott Room also located on the third floor. At this convention, we will:

  • hold elections for some state officers and all district directors;
  • consider bylaw amendments, resolutions, and ballot proposition endorsements;
  • hear from candidates for statewide office and Board of Equalization; and
  • endorse candidates for statewide office and Board of Equalization.

The early bird price for registration plus meals is $249 through March 5. The price rises to $279 through March 15. The included meals are Friday dinner; Saturday breakfast, lunch, and dinner; and Sunday breakfast. The convention registration only fee is $50. Register for the convention at https://cra-membership.wildapricot.org/event-4636833.

Friday Dinner Banquet Speaker: Eric Lendrum, “Why They Fear January 6”

Eric Lendrum is an associate producer for the radio show America First with Sebastian Gorka and co-hosts The Right Take podcast with Jacob Grandstaff. He also writes news articles and commentary at American Greatness. Lendrum has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he was the Founding Chairman of the Young Americans for Freedom chapter.


Saturday Lunch Banquet Panelists: CEO Laura Sextro, Dr. Paul Alexander, and Dr. Aaron Kheriaty, “Opposing COVID-19 Mandates”

Laura Sextro brings more than 20 years of executive leadership experience to her role as Chief Executive Officer of The Unity Project, including senior roles with organizations that include Bennufit Health, Ambry Genetics, Quantgene, Konica Minolta, and CoreLogic. Sextro earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of La Verne. She is also an active member of many volunteer organizations.

Dr. Paul Alexander, an esteemed epidemiologist and widely recognized global expert on COVID-19, is the Chief Scientific Officer of The Unity Project. He has served as a senior advisor to the assistant secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, specializing in COVID pandemic policy during the Trump administration. Alexander is widely published, serving as the primary or supporting author of more than 50 academic papers.

Aaron Kheriaty, MD, is Professor of Psychiatry at UCI School of Medicine and Director of the Medical Ethics Program at UCI Health. He serves as chairman of the medical ethics committees at UCI Hospital and at the California Dept. of State Hospitals. Dr. Kheriaty graduated from the University of Notre Dame in philosophy and pre-medical sciences, earned his MD degree from Georgetown University, and completed residency training in psychiatry at UCI.

Saturday Dinner Banquet Speaker: Dr. John Eastman, “2020 Election Fraud”

Dr. John Eastman is a Senior Fellow of the Claremont Institute; the Founding Director of the Claremont Institute’s Center for Constitutional Jurisprudence; and, until January 2021, served as the Henry Salvatori Professor of Law and Community Service at Chapman University’s Dale E. Fowler School of Law. He has a Ph.D. in Government from the Claremont Graduate School and a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School.


Sunday Prayer Breakfast Speakers: BOE Member Ted Gaines, CRP Vice Chair Peter Kuo, and Attorney, Author, and Broadcaster Larry Elder

Elected in November 2018, Ted Gaines represents the Board of Equalization’s First District. Prior to his election to the Board, he served 12 years in the State Legislature. Ted began his public service in local government as a member of the City of Roseville’s Planning Commission from 1997-1999. In 2000, he was elected to the Placer County Board of Supervisors and re-elected in 2004. Ted is a small business owner, having owned Gaines Insurance Agency for 30 years.

Peter Kuo was elected Vice Chairman of the California Republican Party (CRP) in 2019 and was re-elected in 2021. Peter is the Co-Founder and President at JDX International Group, Inc. He is also an Insurance Agent and Agency Owner with the Farmers Insurance Group of Companies. Peter earned a bachelor’s degree from San Jose State University in 1991, majoring in aviation operations and minoring in business management.

America’s “truth detector” is now Larry Elder. After 20 years leading the way in Los Angeles on KABC, Larry joined Salem Media Group, and in April 2016 SRN re-launched his nationally syndicated radio show. He was originally syndicated by the ABC Radio Network from 2002 to 2007, before joining the Salem Radio Network. Known as “the Sage from South Central”, Larry is unafraid to take on liberals and the Black Lives Matter movement with common sense.
